On the occasion of the event “Django Adventure”, supported by Peugeot scooters, Total and Planet Ride, we take the opportunity to tell you more about these legendary vehicles that are the Peugeot scooters!
A Little history
1956, two French Navy soldiers engaged in Indochina, Serge Gracium and Michel Vaslin, decided to join Paris from Saigon on campaign leave. The vehicles? Two Peugeot S57 scooters! It is no less than 17 000 kilometers of roads of any kind that are travelled in total during this road trip by our two soldiers. The balance sheet: only one small puncture to declare!
60 years later, Samuel Felice and Ambroise Prince, two long-time friends familiar with the famous history, decide to pay homage to this legendary road trip by raising the challenge of doing it in the opposite direction!
But by the way, what is the Peugeot Django scooter?
Beyond its historical value, the Django scooter can also boast of its technical qualities. Inspired by the S55 (which later gave birth to the S57), Peugeot’s first marketed scooter, the new Django scooter combines comfort, elegance and freedom for a result that only gives us a desire: to go on a road trip!
With its style combining the vintage with the modern, the scooter Django also has the peculiarity of being very customizable, which represents a serious advantage for those who wish to make their scooter a unique machine and in their image…
In total, there are no fewer than 118 000 different combinations possible for the personalization of Django! Between the colors, the mirrors, the saddle and the body rings, you will take time but above all the pleasure to customize your scooter and then to drive it.
The advantage of road-trip by scooter
To travel by scooter is also to choose a particular mode of transport that stands out from other classic vehicles and more borrowed during motor trips. Indeed, the scooter, unlike a simple motorcycle or car, will make you travel to the rhythm of a stroll and will give you time to see everything in your passage without missing a single important place. It was therefore a choice of vehicles, not only historic, but also perfectly adapted to the route of the two Riders of the Django Adventure!
