Follow the trails of the nomads

Leaving Ouarzazate, you first follow dry riverbeds and the arid plateaus of southern Morocco before reaching the first expanses of the Sahara. The trails lead you towards Zagora and then M’Hamid, the last village before the desert. Gradually, the Chegaga dunes rise on the horizon. You spend the night at a bivouac in the heart of the Sahara. The crossing of Djebel Bani and Jbel Saghro extends this immersive journey through rugged landscapes and isolated oases such as Fint.

Day-by-day itinerary

Day 1

Ouarzazate

You arrive at Ouarzazate Airport, where you are welcomed and transferred to a riad for the night. If you arrive in Marrakech, you travel to Ouarzazate by road the same day. After settling in, you have free time to rest before the adventure begins.
Day 2

Ouarzazate - Zagora

You familiarise yourself with your buggies and begin by travelling along a wadi. You cross arid landscapes of limestone plateaus and sparse vegetation. The scenery gradually opens onto the vast expanses southeast of Ouarzazate, with the Atlas Mountains in the background. You then continue towards Zagora for the night.
Day 3

Zagora - Chegaga

You reach M’Hamid by trail, the last village before the desert. After a break, you follow the first dunes towards Erg Lihoudi and then Ouled Driss. The Saharan landscape gradually takes over until you reach the dunes of Erg Chegaga. Settle into your bivouac in the heart of the desert.

Chegaga - Foum Zguid

You head west towards Jbel Bani and its steep rock formations. You then follow the Zguid wadi valley, whose vegetation contrasts with the surrounding rocky plateaus. Arrival in Foum Zguid and overnight at the hotel.
Day 5

Foum Zguid - Ouarzazate

Day 6

Ouarzazate

After breakfast, you have some free time before your transfer to Ouarzazate Airport according to your flight schedule. If your return flight departs from Marrakech, you will be transferred there the previous evening and stay overnight.
