Day-by-day itinerary

Day 1

Arrival in Medellín

Upon your arrival in Colombia, you are welcomed at the airport and transferred to the lively district of El Poblado, in the heart of Medellín. Check-in at the hotel and free time to discover this city nestled at 1,500 metres above sea level, renowned for its pleasant climate all year round. You may stroll around Botero Plaza, discover the monumental sculptures of the Colombian artist or enjoy the many cafés and restaurants across the city. A first immersion into the Colombian atmosphere before the beginning of the road trip.
Day 2

Medellín - Jardín

An early departure allows you to leave Medellín before the traffic builds up. The route quickly crosses the mountains of Antioquia and reaches Santa Fe de Antioquia, the former colonial capital known for its cobbled streets and colourful houses. You then continue towards the southwest of the country, riding through coffee plantations, lush valleys and traditional villages. Arrival in Jardín at the end of the day, a charming Andean town renowned for its traditional architecture and peaceful atmosphere.
Day 3

Jardín - Salamina

After breakfast, you follow a dirt track through the rolling landscapes of the Caldas region, in the heart of Colombia’s coffee-growing area. Surrounded by plantations, hills and remote farms, this stage offers a wonderful immersion into the Andean countryside. After a local lunch, continue along a scenic mountain road to Salamina, a village considered one of the most beautiful towns in Colombia’s Coffee Region.

Day 4

Salamina - Termales del Ruiz

This day takes you into the Andean highlands. The road gradually climbs through increasingly wild and mountainous landscapes, offering countless bends and sweeping views of the surrounding volcanoes and valleys. By the end of the day, you arrive at Termales del Ruiz, where you can relax in the famous natural hot springs nestled in the heart of the mountains.

Termales del Ruiz - Salento

Head towards Salento via Manizales, one of the major cities of Colombia’s Coffee Triangle. The route then leaves the main roads behind and follows more rural tracks through the Colombian countryside. Several off-road sections run alongside the Río Otún before reaching Salento, a colourful village perched at nearly 2,000 metres above sea level, famous for its traditional houses and lively atmosphere.

Salento

A day dedicated to exploring Salento and the Cocora Valley. Discover this iconic region, famous for its towering wax palms, the national tree of Colombia. The scenery alternates between lush valleys, mountains and tropical forests. After lunch, visit a traditional finca to learn about Colombian coffee production before returning to enjoy the lively atmosphere of the village in the evening.
Day 7

Salento - Ibagué

Leave Colombia’s Coffee Region behind and head towards Ibagué, located at the foot of the Central Cordillera. The route crosses a variety of agricultural landscapes and several typical Andean villages. Between winding roads, mountains and tropical valleys, this stage reveals another side of rural Colombia before arriving in Ibagué.
Day 8

Ibagué - Honda

The road gradually descends into warmer regions, crossing lush valleys, wooded hills and traditional villages such as Alvarado and Mariquita. You then reach Honda, a former colonial town located on the banks of the Río Magdalena. After checking into your hotel, take time to explore its cobbled streets, historic bridges and distinctive colonial architecture.

Honda - Rio Claro

Leave Honda via secondary roads and several dirt tracks crossing the Colombian plains. The scenery gradually changes, with traditional haciendas becoming increasingly common along the route. You eventually reach the Río Claro Nature Reserve, famous for its crystal-clear river and striking marble rock formations. There is time to swim or explore the reserve’s caves. Along the way, an optional stop can be made at the former Hacienda Nápoles, closely linked to the history of Pablo Escobar.
Day 10

Rio Claro - Guatapé

The day begins with several dirt-track sections that require a bit more riding skill before giving way to beautiful winding roads through lush green countryside. You then reach Guatapé, famous for its colourful houses and decorated façades. After checking into your hotel, take time to explore the village and enjoy its lively atmosphere.

Guatapé - Medellín

Before setting off again, you have the option to climb to the top of the Piedra del Peñol monolith and admire the spectacular views over the lakes and countless islands of the region. You then ride back to Medellín via scenic mountain roads, enjoying one final memorable day on the bike. Upon arrival, return your motorcycles and enjoy a free evening in the capital of Antioquia.
Day 12

Medellín – Return flight

Depending on your flight schedule, you may still enjoy a few free hours in Medellín before your transfer to the international airport for your return flight.
