Day 1

Day 1 - Arrival in Arequipa (2300m)

You begin this journey in the heart of the Peruvian Altiplano, in Arequipa. This colonial city, the gateway to the Andean highlands, welcomes you with its well-preserved architecture and its calming atmosphere. After checking in to your hotel, you'll have time to stretch your legs in the historic center and sample the local cuisine. A perfect first immersion to recover from the trip and prepare for the motorcycle adventure ahead.
Day 2

Day 2 - Arequipa - Colca Canyon (3600m)

You take the handlebars for your first big day of high‑altitude riding. The road rises gradually above 4,000 meters, crosses the vicuña area and the Pampa de Toccra before reaching the vast Andean plateaus. You cross the Abra Patapampa pass, the highest point at 4,910 meters, where you stop for a lunch break. The route then continues with a descent into a greener valley, down to the Colca Canyon, the condor's territory. You settle in for the evening in this spectacular setting.

Day 3 - Colca Canyon - Espinar (3900 m)

If conditions allow, you may observe condors at dawn before continuing on. You travel along tracks across high-altitude grasslands, dotted with isolated hamlets and alpaca farms. The route leads you to the Suykutambo Canyon, recognizable by its distinctive rock formations. You continue to the ruins of Mawqallacta, a testament to the pre-Columbian past, before arriving in Espinar for the evening.

Day 4
Day 4 - Espinar - Cusco (3400 m)
You leave early for the pre-Inca ruins of Kanamarka. The route follows wide high-altitude roads, flanked by mountain lakes, before a gradual descent into the valley of the Vilcanota River. In the early afternoon you reach Cusco, the former capital of the Inca Empire. You spend the rest of the day resting and beginning to take in the city's unique atmosphere.

Day 5 - Cuzco
This day gives you a real break. You can explore Cuzco on foot at your own pace, or choose to ride a short motorcycle loop in the surrounding area. Strolling through the alleyways of San Blas, discovering the Temple of the Sun or the Plaza de Armas, you immerse yourself in the living history of the Inca civilization. An ideal stop to balance riding, culture and rest.

Day 6 - Cusco - Urubamba (2,900 m)
You leave Cusco to reach the Sacred Valley of the Incas. Along the way, the landscape alternates between archaeological sites, farmland, and viewpoints overlooking the Andean peaks. You discover Moray, an ancient Inca agricultural research center, followed by the Maras salt pans. The day ends in Urubamba, in the heart of the valley, where you settle in for the night.

Day 7 - Urubamba - Round trip to Machu Picchu (2430m)
You leave the motorcycles for the day and head to Ollantaytambo before boarding the train to Aguas Calientes. From there you make your way to Machu Picchu. Nestled between the Andes and the Amazon, this major site of the Inca civilization is explored on foot amid a striking landscape. After the visit, you return by train and are transferred back to Urubamba.
Day 8
Day 8 - Urubamba - Quince Mil (650 m)
You meet up with your motorcycles for a long transition stage. The route follows the Urubamba River, passes through Pisac, then links up with the Interoceanic axis connecting the Pacific to the Amazon. You cross two successive passes, each above 4,000 meters, before beginning a spectacular descent of nearly 4,000 meters in elevation. You arrive in Quince Mil at the end of the day and settle into a hacienda.

You set off again to tackle the Andean high plains. The climb is gradual but sustained, offering wide views over the forest before returning to the austerity of the Altiplano. Macusani marks a practical stop in this isolated environment, between the pampa and Lake Titicaca. You share a simple dinner and spend the evening in basic accommodation, in keeping with the setting.

Day 10 - Macusani - Llachon (Capachica Peninsula, Lake Titicaca) (3850m)
You travel across a high-altitude pampa with Himalayan-like features, where herds of alpacas and vicuñas accompany your progress. The route alternates between dirt tracks and paved roads before Lake Titicaca comes into view. You reach Llachon, on the Capachica Peninsula, away from the bustle of Puno. You are welcomed in a guesthouse overlooking the lake.

Day 11 - Llachon - Chucuito (Lake Titicaca) (3870 m)
You spend the day exploring the shores of the lake. The route is short and allows you to observe Aymara farms and the chullpas of Sillustani, near Lake Umayo. After lunch in Puno, you continue on to Chucuito, a peaceful village offering an unobstructed view of Lake Titicaca and its ancient fertility temple. For the more motivated, an optional loop leads to volcanic landscapes. Evening in Chucuito.

You begin the final major stage of the trip. The route combines main roads and more demanding sections, across open volcanic landscapes. You cross part of the Salinas y Aguada Blanca reserve, a wild natural area with stretches of pale sand. At the end of the day, you return to Arequipa, the starting and ending point of this Andean adventure.

  • Rental of a Royal Enfield Classic 500 motorcycle (2018 model, including spare mechanical parts)
  • Ground transfers as specified in the itinerary in a private vehicle
  • Supervision: a French-speaking motorcycle guide (from day 2 to day 13)
  • Fuel
  • Assistance from a mechanic, who will serve as the driver of the support vehicle for groups of 4 or more participants
  • A support vehicle for carrying equipment for groups of 4 or more; saddlebags for groups of fewer than 4 people
  • Accommodation: standard or comfort hotels, in Twin rooms (two single beds). Solo travelers will share a Twin room with another participant
