Day 1

Marrakech - Zagora

You are greeted at Marrakech Airport before heading south behind the wheel of your Ford Raptor. You cross the High Atlas Mountains and travel through the rocky landscapes of southern Morocco before reaching Zagora. Settle into your eco-lodge in the heart of the palm grove for the night.

Day 2

Zagora - Sahara

The morning is devoted to a briefing and the fundamentals of 4×4 desert driving: driving position, safety and terrain reading. In the afternoon, you head out onto your first sandy trails for an introduction to driving in the Sahara. Return to the lodge at the end of the day.

Day 3

Zagora - Merzouga

You leave Zagora at daybreak. After a stretch of paved road, you take a more challenging trail across the desert expanses. You reach the great dunes of Merzouga in the late afternoon and set up your bivouac for a night beneath the stars.

Day 4

Merzouga - Zagora

At sunrise, you admire the changing light over the dunes before continuing your drive through the sand. You practise driving up and down the dunes before following the trail back towards Zagora. Overnight at the lodge.

Day 5

Zagora - Erg Chegaga

You head south towards Erg Chegaga. The day alternates between trails, dunes and technical sections. You learn to navigate by compass to reach this isolated dune field, where you set up your bivouac.

Day 7

Erg Chegaga - Zagora

You put your newly acquired skills into practice to find the trail leading back to Zagora. Compass navigation and driving across sand shape this final stage before you return to the lodge for one last evening.
