Day-by-day itinerary

Day 1

Arrival in Maputo

You arrive in Maputo and collect your rental vehicle. You then head to your guesthouse located in a quiet area overlooking the sea. Depending on your arrival time, you explore the capital city: the central railway station with its bronze dome, Praça da Independência, the central market or the colonial architecture of the Baixa district. Overnight stay in Maputo.
Day 2

Maputo - Kruger National Park

You drive towards South Africa and enter Kruger National Park. Following the marked tracks, you search for the Big Five: lion, elephant, buffalo, leopard and rhinoceros. You also spot giraffes, zebras and many antelope species around the waterholes. Overnight stay in a Rest Camp in the heart of the park.

and day 4: Kruger - Marloth Park

You dedicate these two days to safaris in Kruger National Park and the Marloth Park reserve, located on the edge of the park. Early mornings and late afternoons offer the best opportunities for wildlife viewing. You explore different areas with varied scenery ranging from open savannah to wooded landscapes. Overnight stays near the park, immersed in the bush environment.

Marloth Park - Xai - Xai

You cross back into Mozambique and head towards the coast at Xai-Xai. You settle into accommodation facing the ocean.   • Travel documents, including a detailed roadbook of around fifty pages.
  • Rental of a Renault Duster type vehicle (4x4 available on request).
  • 200 km per day included and cumulative (sufficient for your trip).
  • An international driving licence is strongly recommended for all vehicle rentals.
  • Standard insurance including collision damage, theft and loss waiver (CDTLW) (excess of $1,722 with standard cover and $803 with super cover).
