Day-by-day itinerary

Day 1

Vientiane

Welcome to Laos. Upon arrival in Vientiane, you will be greeted and transferred to your accommodation, allowing you to settle in comfortably. In the evening, head to the banks of the Mekong for your first dinner in a warm local atmosphere. The lights shimmer on the river, the air is gentle, and your adventure begins here, blending serenity and authenticity.
Day 2

Vientiane - Muang Met

The day begins with a traditional blessing ceremony at a nearby temple. A meaningful and intimate moment that sets the tone for the adventure ahead. After the briefing, you collect your motorcycles and leave the capital, following the Mekong River. The first kilometres unfold on paved roads before giving way to mountain tracks. Bend after bend, the landscapes become more dramatic as you make your way to the remote village of Muang Met, already immersed in a more secret and authentic side of Laos.

Muang Met - Sayaboury

The day begins amid a spectacular karst landscape. The trail winds between towering cliffs and dense vegetation before climbing towards the heights of the Kasi Pass at 2,000 metres. The descent reveals bright valleys dotted with traditional villages. By late afternoon, the rice fields of Sayaboury glow in the golden light, bringing the day to a peaceful and memorable close.

Day 4

Sayaboury - Hongsa

Today, you ride along the Thai border on a superb ridge-top track. Vast panoramas stretch as far as the eye can see, and you pass through several Hmong villages perched on the mountainsides. The sense of space and freedom is remarkable. Upon reaching Hongsa, a peaceful small town, you can enjoy the evening at your own pace.

Hongsa - Luang Prabang

Today, you head east along a scenic trail that connects to a spectacular mountain road. As you approach Luang Prabang, the atmosphere gradually changes: the Mekong comes into view and the silhouettes of temples begin to appear. After lunch by the river, enjoy a free afternoon to explore this former royal capital, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, at your own pace. With two nights here, you have plenty of time to immerse yourself in the timeless elegance and unique charm of this remarkable city.

Luang Prabang - Pak Ou - Luang Prabang

Wake up early to experience the vibrant and authentic local market. You then ride your motorcycle towards the sacred Pak Ou Caves, reached after a short river crossing. The Mekong accompanies much of your journey along the way. After lunch, return to Luang Prabang and enjoy a free evening among illuminated temples and the gentle atmosphere of the tropics.

After crossing the Nam Khan River by local ferry, you climb along a forest track lined with pine trees. By late morning, you arrive in Phonsavan and the mysterious Plain of Jars. These ancient megalithic stone jars, scattered across the plateaus, give this stage an almost mystical character.

A full day dedicated to off-road riding. Suspension bridges, technical sections and narrow valleys keep you fully engaged throughout the journey. The scenery is spectacular, wild and intense. After a memorable crossing through this remote region, you arrive in Vanglouang.

Vanglouang - Vientiane

A final sunrise over the mountains of Laos. You ride back towards Vientiane along a smooth and enjoyable route. Arriving in the early afternoon marks the end of your loop. After returning the motorcycles, take some time to relax before enjoying one last sunset over the Mekong. The journey comes to an end, but the memories remain.

The price includes
  • Honda CRF250L motorcycles equipped for off-road riding and fitted with luggage racks. The motorcycles are covered by third-party insurance through Allianz Group AGL.
  • Accommodation as outlined in the itinerary, in air-conditioned shared twin rooms (2 people) in quality hotels and guesthouses. Single room option available.
  • All meals, snacks and beverages, excluding alcoholic drinks.
  • A 4-door, air-conditioned 4x4 support vehicle with driver. It carries your personal belongings, a spare motorcycle and maintenance parts, allowing you to ride light and safely throughout the trip.
  • An English-speaking Lao mechanic guide and a French-speaking tour leader, based on a minimum of 4 confirmed riders.
  • All vehicle fuel and maintenance costs.
  • Airport transfers upon arrival and departure.
  • All ferry crossing fees.
The price does not include
  • Any flight tickets or other means of transportation not specifically included in our offer.
  • Laos visa fees, available upon arrival at the airport for USD 40.
  • Please note: your passport must be valid for at least 6 months beyond your departure date from Laos.
  • Mandatory travel and MEDEVAC repatriation insurance covering motorcycle riding in Laos. A valid International Driving Permit for motorcycles up to 250cc is also required.
  • Any costs related to damage to your motorcycle resulting from rider error, including repair costs and any associated replacement logistics expenses.
  • All alcoholic beverages.
  • Each rider must bring and wear their own riding gear, including a motocross/enduro helmet, enduro boots, gloves, knee guards, riding pants and jersey.

Important information

This tour consists of approximately 80% easy-going dirt tracks with no major technical difficulties and 20% mountain roads. The itinerary can be adapted according to trail conditions to ensure comfort, safety and riding enjoyment throughout the journey.
