Weather and When to Travel :
• France features a variety of climates due to the different geography. Generally you will find cold, rainy/snowy winters, and warm, sunny summers. Along the Mediterranean, the summers are even hotter, but the winters will be milder. Should you venture into the mountains, expect cooler temperatures year-round, with frigid, snowy winters.

• Late spring through early fall is the best window for travel, but you’ll want to schedule your road trip in France to avoid the major school holidays, when everyone goes on vacation and travel can quickly become a nightmare

Transportation Options :
• Intercontinental flights will arrive at Charles de Gaulle, but many intra-European flights use Orly, and several budget airlines fly into Beauvais (which is about 80 km northwest of Paris). Taking a train, bus, or car from neighboring countries, or beyond, is also a great option. You can even take ferries from the UK and Ireland.

• Once in the country, you’ll find it easy to get around using planes, trains, buses, local metro systems, or on your own in a car.

• France is a member of the Schengen Agreement and the European Union. Therefore, EU, EEA, and Swiss citizens only need a valid ID or passport, while all others will need a passport issued within the last ten years, and valid for at least three months beyond their period of stay.
