You follow the tracks of the ancient Silk Road, deep in the vast Mongolian landscapes. The steppes stretch endlessly, echoing the passage of caravans that once linked East and West. The route crosses the Orkhon Valley and Karakorum, former capital of Genghis Khan’s empire, before reaching the remote edges of the Gobi Desert and the dunes of Khongoryn Els. Day-by-day itinerary

Day 1

Arrival in Ulaanbaatar

Welcome to Mongolia for this motorcycle adventure through the vast steppes of Central Asia. Upon arrival at Ulaanbaatar Airport, you are greeted by your local guide and transferred to your hotel in the heart of the capital. This first day is free to explore Ulaanbaatar at your own pace, between Buddhist monasteries, Soviet-style avenues, and lively local markets.
Day 2

Ulaanbaatar – Dashinchilen

Including 13 km of dirt tracks.
After breakfast, a short transfer takes you to the motorcycles. You then begin your ride towards the first Mongolian steppes aboard your Royal Enfield Himalayans. Very quickly, the scenery transforms and the first herds of horses, goats, sheep, and yaks appear along the horizon. This stage alternates paved roads and easy dirt tracks before reaching the small village of Dashinchilen. Overnight in a local guesthouse.

Dashinchilen – Ogii Nuur

Including 32 to 68 km of dirt tracks.
You continue westward along the famous “Middle Route,” crossing the immense Mongolian steppes. Endless straight roads create a true feeling of freedom and open space. Several off-road sections lead away from the main route toward isolated villages, ancient ruins, and remote tracks through the plains. Arrival at Lake Ogii Nuur, known for its migratory birds and wide-open landscapes.

Day 4

Ogii Nuur – Tsenkher Hot Springs

Including 136 km of dirt tracks.
Today marks a real immersion into wild Mongolia. Dirt tracks become predominant as you cross steppes, hills, and remote valleys. The scenery constantly evolves, and the first mountain ranges begin to appear as you approach the Khangaï Mountains. By the end of the day, arrival at the Tsenkher Hot Springs, famous for their naturally warm waters. Enjoy the baths before spending the night in camp.

Tsenkher Hot Springs – Orkhon Valley

100% dirt tracks.
You ride towards the Orkhon Valley, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The route crosses several rivers and mountain passes through the Khangaï range. The endless steppes gradually give way to more rugged scenery with forests, pastures, and volcanic valleys. Mid-afternoon arrival at your camp located near the famous Orkhon Waterfalls.

Orkhon Valley – Talbiun

100% dirt tracks.
The morning begins with a visit to the Orkhon Waterfalls and the surrounding area. You then share a special moment with a nomadic family while discovering the preparation of a traditional Mongolian dish. After lunch, you get back on the motorcycles for a short but more technical stage across volcanic landscapes and rocky terrain. Overnight in the Talbiun region.

Talbiun – Karakorum

Including 71 km of dirt tracks.
You continue your journey following the Orkhon River one last time before reaching Karakorum, the ancient capital of the Mongol Empire founded by Genghis Khan. The day alternates between fast dirt tracks and smoother sections across the steppes. Upon arrival, visit the Karakorum Museum and discover the history of the great nomadic empires that shaped Mongolia.

Karakorum – Khogno Khaan

Including 60 to 90 km of dirt tracks.
Ride towards the Khogno Khaan region and the dunes of the “Mini Gobi.” The tracks cross vast open steppes before reaching the long sand dunes of Elsen Tasarkhai, stretched between mountains and plains. This stage combines fast tracks, sandy sections, and the immense landscapes typical of central Mongolia.

Khogno Khaan – Ulaanbaatar

Including 10 to 70 km of dirt tracks.
You begin your return journey to Ulaanbaatar. The route crosses the Mongolian steppes one final time before gradually reconnecting with the traffic of the capital city. This last riding day is the perfect opportunity to enjoy the vast landscapes and flowing tracks before arriving in Ulaanbaatar in the afternoon. Hotel check-in and free evening.
