Kevin joins Planet Ride to show you Lapland by snowmobile

Once you fall in love with Lapland, you can never quite get enough of it. That is why we are delighted to welcome Kevin to Planet Ride’s team of local experts. Based in Inari for several years, he joins us with new snowmobile tours designed to reveal the far north through what he loves most: wide-open spaces and untamed nature.

Kevin chose to live in Inari to be closer to his passion for Lapland. Today, he leads small-group expeditions through frozen lakes, boreal forests and encounters with the Sámi people. With him, we offer a Lapland snowmobile experience that balances adventure, immersion and comfort while staying connected to the region.

His local knowledge gives the journey a different dimension: an itinerary shaped by someone who knows the trails, landscapes and rhythm of the far north inside out.

His first Lapland snowmobile expedition with Planet Ride

For his first trip with us, Kevin has designed an 8-day, 650-kilometre expedition across the varied landscapes of northern Finland. The route heads towards Inari on long trails through the spruce forests, across frozen lakes where conditions allow for faster riding, and through a few more technical sections in the snowy hills.

This Lapland snowmobile expedition is conceived as a genuine crossing. Each day takes you deeper into the white landscapes, while making room for breaks, conversations and the experiences that give a northern journey its character.

From Lake Inari to Sámi lands

The highlight of the route is the crossing of Lake Inari. In winter, its more than 3,000 islands are frozen into a vast white landscape to explore by snowmobile. We take you into the heart of Sámi lands, where the horizon seems to stretch endlessly.

Keep an eye on the edges of the trail too: reindeer herds are often seen moving freely. We cross their territory with care and respect, because the Lapland we love to share is first and foremost a living environment.

Meeting the people who live here

With Kevin, discovery is not limited to riding. He takes you to meet a Sámi family, share a meal and discover their culture from a perspective beyond the handlebars. This encounter is an integral part of the journey, helping you understand the links between local people, reindeer and the wide-open spaces of northern Finland.

We wanted this expedition to pair the sensations of riding with genuine immersion. The kilometres matter, of course, but they become more meaningful when they lead to meetings and shared moments.

Northern lights, sauna and trail memories

In the evening, if the sky cooperates, Kevin knows where to wait for the chance to see the northern lights. We cannot control the weather or solar activity, but we know the best places to look up and wait for the show.

And because a day of snowmobiling is also enjoyed once the engines are off, a sauna beside the frozen lake is an essential pause. The cold stays outside, everyone recharges, and the day’s best sections are already being retold.
