Minimum age and driving license

The minimum age to drive a buggy on this guided format is 16. Younger travelers may still join as passengers depending on the vehicle configuration and the conditions confirmed before departure.

No driving license is required for this trip, as driving takes place only on off-road tracks, away from regular road traffic. However, basic driving experience is necessary: you should feel comfortable operating a motorized vehicle, following a line and respecting the guide's instructions.

What level is required?

Buggies are accessible and quick to get used to. You do not need to be an experienced driver to take part. You simply need to manage your trajectory, adapt your speed and remain comfortable on uneven terrain.

Before each departure, the local team provides a full briefing: how the vehicle works, safety distances, group driving, dust management and behavior on the tracks. The first few kilometers help you find your rhythm, then the pace is adjusted progressively to the group level.

With suitable guidance, the experience remains focused on the pleasure of driving rather than performance. This progressive approach is what makes buggy riding in Morocco a strong option for a first off-road adventure.

What buggies are used?

Our expert Malak and her team mainly use two complementary models:

• Can-Am Maverick Trail 700: agile, precise and well suited to narrow or technical tracks.
• Can-Am Maverick X3: more powerful, designed for open terrain and faster sections.

These models are automatic and equipped with a roll cage and safety harnesses. They are regularly maintained by the local team to ensure reliability and safety. A support vehicle systematically follows the group to intervene quickly if needed.

Equipment and safety

A helmet and protective goggles are included. We also recommend bringing gloves, closed-toe shoes, long-sleeved clothing and dust protection, especially for dry and windy stages.

Each outing includes a mandatory safety briefing, a professional guide and a support vehicle. The goal is not pure speed, but a supervised exploration experience adapted to the terrain, weather and group energy.

Insurance and departure conditions

Each buggy includes third-party liability insurance. It covers damage caused to a third party. Damage to the vehicle may, however, remain the responsibility of the driver depending on local conditions; full details are provided before your booking is confirmed.

Planet Ride travel insurance also offers a deductible buy-back option. It can cover up to EUR 1,500 in the event of a collision, according to the policy conditions. This is a relevant additional solution to limit your financial exposure.

Group departures are guaranteed from 5 participants. This threshold ensures coherent supervision, the presence of the support vehicle and a structured organization.
