Planet Ride integrated network ATD: actor in sustainable tourism

Planet Ride has been selected to join the network ATD, actors of tourism sustainable. In 2011, created by a group of french journalists, the association ATD accompanies and supports tourism professionals involved in a sustainable approach. ATD partners some travel agencies, restaurants, media and territories, consultants… This group of actors for a sustainable tourism allows a common reflection on new solutions, at each level of the tourism chain and its promotion process. Planet Ride explains his vision and his actions for sustainable tourism.

ATD, to promote responsible travel

Travelers want to travel responsibly, in accordance with environmental and economic concerns current. Unfortunately, although the professionals of tourism for sustainable development are many, their offer remains dispersed and inconspicuous. ATD association helps the structuring of the sustainable tourism sector and its promotion. In November next ATD predicts an image campaign on the theme “another tourism is possible, at the corner of the street as at the end of the world”.

The sustained commitment of Planet Ride and its partners specialists

At Planet Ride we are aware of issues of organizing, sharing and promotion of sustainable tourism. We want reconciliation in motorized and responsible travel through a vision of sustainable, local travel. With Planet Ride, a trip on a motorcycle, 4 x 4 or scooter is more synonymous with violation of the environment and local populations, but becomes a meeting, an Exchange.

Planet Ride selects partners involved in a sustainable approach

Planet Ride brings around the road trip and motorized adventure, local tourism players and allows them to enter into a direct relationship with travelers. Partners specialists selected by Planet Ride answer number of sustainable and responsible environmental criteria. Planet Ride allows travelers passionate of road-trip to find and select respectful partners of local populations and enrolled in a sustainable approach. Our specialists partners are also involved in the local economy. To go further and integrate the Planet Ride network, our specialists partners signed a quality Charter and specific commitments. This commits them to:

• preserve the cultural authenticity of local communities

• register their business in a sustainable and virtuous circle

• grow real and local economies by promoting meetings, by hiring local resources, by selecting sustainable accommodation (…)

• get involved in protection active sensitive natural areas

Planet Ride makes a point of honor to select partners, to allow travellers to live a quality experience.

For example, our partner Guy offers trips in 4 x 4 in Mauritania and shared his vision of solidarity and sustainable travel all travellers “for me the greatest pleasure of the trip in Mauritania is to be able to help the inhabitants of the desert, nomadic or village. This aid is essentially to take charge a passenger or some goods to drop off at someone. This aid remains a pleasure and unforgettable meetings and a fabulous home in areas where there is no or very few vehicles.”

Philippe, our local partner in the Philippines has to him made an expedition in BMW motorcycle on 6600 km across the archipelago of the Philippines to distribute solar lighting for over 40 communities in villages outside networks. By distributing solar panels, it helps of protected areas and indigenous community Bangsa.

Finally, Alexandre in addition to offering tours in scooter in Indonesia, recently opened recently opened a hotel in Ladakh, the Indian Himalayas region. He undertook to renovate this home by promoting the local economy, the traditional techniques of construction and local crafts.

Planet Ride: always greater ambitions for sustainable tourism

Planet Ride and its partners specialists are already engaged in a process of sustainable tourism development and our ambitions go further. Term Planet Ride wants to help and train its partners specialists in still further steps for sustainable and responsible tourism. Planet Ride wish is to propose to its partners the training specialists, readings, meetings and to go further on the study and the structuring of the sustainable economic models of travel agencies.
