Located 7 km from Dingle, its charm marks the spirits with its colorful houses, the generosity of its inhabitants, the nearby beach and its fabulous fishing port which ranks among the most important of the peninsula. If you decide to stay a little longer than expected in Ventry, do not hesitate to visit the Rahinnane Castle and its ruins, after the passage of Olivier Cromwell in the Anglo-Norman era. You can also admire the view of the Little Skellig and Skellig Michael Islands. The steep, arrowhead-shaped rocks of these two inaccessible islands are populated mainly by sea birds and seals. Once the Slea Head Road is resumed, you can take a short break to join Dún Chaoin, also known as Dunquin. Located on the Dingle Peninsula, this village lives in tourism and tides. It welcomes visitors by offering shuttles to Blasket Island, a desert island for nearly 60 years. Dún Chaoin is now one of the last villages still to speak Irish Gaelic, one of the many Celtic languages of the country.
