Discover the Stunning Mysteries of Sri Lanka’s Eastern Coast

Welcome to one of the most unique regions in Southeast Asia, the largely unexplored eastern coast of Sri Lanka. This dazzling landscape is unusual for not suffering from the typical monsoons of the area and features delightful white sand beaches that endlessly stretch along with verdant jungles packed with wildlife like elephants, monkeys and rare birds and mystical Buddhist pagodas and temple where you can dive into the history of Sri Lanka. As you make your way through the country, you’ll be riding the classic Royal Enfield 500 as you carve through the twists of turns of the stunning countryside. If you are looking for an authentic discovery of Sri Lanka where you explore the jungles and mountains during the day and relax on the pristine beaches in the afternoon, than this Sri Lanka motorbike tour is the perfect adventure for you!

Day 1

Colombo - Negombo

Our team will welcome you at the airport and transfer you to Negombo, the first stop in your exploration of Sri Lanka. After checking into your hotel, you’ll have to rest, relax and enjoy this charming fishing village before your journey begins!

Day 2

Negombo - Trinconmalee

In the morning, you’ll have a short transfer over to the Colombo Airport where you’ll board a plane to Trincomalee and the east coast. Upon reaching the motel, your motorcycle will be waiting for. You have the afternoon free to begin getting to know your bike and doing a little exploration or relaxing on Nilaveli, a gorgeous, powdery sandy beach. Get ready our Sri Lanka Royal Enfield is about to begin!

Day 3

Trinconmalee

50 km

Time for your Sri Lanka motorcycle tours to really get started! We are going to cruise around the bay and escape the tourists as we head into some real secret spots. We’re headed to the majestic Koneswaram Temple which sits precariously perched upon the impressive cliff known as “Lover’s Leap.” Then you’ll have the afternoon free to enjoy as you wish.

Day 4

Trinconmalee - Passikudah

190 km

We’re headed out early to begin winding along the east coast heading due south. You’ll embrace the sensation of freedom you’ll on the back of your Royal Enfield as you breeze down the road. As we make our way along the sea, we’ll have numerous opportunities to jump into the water to cool down and relax.

Day 5

Passikudah - Gal Oya

130 km

We are continuing along our route south continuing along the coast as we roar through reservoirs, coves and lagoons until we reach the famed Gal Oya Park, our destination for the day. Here, you can discover the enchanting Peace Pagoda known locally as the “Shanti Stupa.” You may even come across some wild elephants which often walk around the famed pagoda during sunset.

Day 6

Gal Oya

Today our Sri Lanka motorbike tour is dedicated to an exploration of the incredible Gal Oya National Park. The day begins with a one of a kind safari adventure across Senanayake Samudraya, Sri Lanka’s largest park and home to all kinds of animals from elephants and crocodiles to buffaloes and so much more. Gal Oya is a bird lover’s paradise and over 150 different species call it home. In the evening, we’ll head back to Ampara.

Day 7

Gal Oya - Arugam Bay

120 km

This is your last day riding on Sri Lanka’s east coast. You’ll be zooming through countless beautiful lagoons until you reach Pottuvil, which is located just a short distance north of Arugam Bay. Arugam Bay is probably best known as one of the country’s best surfing spots and is an amazing access point to the nearby hinterlands—one of the wildest parts of the country just waiting to be explored.

Day 8

Arugam Bay - Ella

140 km

We head out in the morning and start making our way across a changing scenery as we work into the mountainous regions of the country on our Sri Lanka Royal Enfield escape. Along the way, you’ll visit “Maligawa” a holy Buddhist pilgrimage site. The last portion of the journey is particularly spectacular as we climb into the fresh mountain air and see the incredible views of the mountain ranges and valleys. We’ll enjoy lunch at the hotel and then you’ll have the afternoon free to enjoy some sightseeing in the village or doing a hike to Little Adam’s Peak.

Day 9

Ella - Haputale

60 km

On your trusty Royal Enfield, you’ll continue along the roads into the highland tea plantations located in the mountains region of central Sri Lanka. We’ll discover the wonders of Bandarawela before heading into Haputale. Today’s journey will offer amazing views of tea plantations, towering waterfalls and an incredible view of the valleys under our wheels.

Day 10

Haputale - Uda Walawe

120 km

Today on our Sri Lanka motorcycle tours, you’ll keep working your way south along one of our expert selected local back roads that lead straight into the heart of Uda Walawe National Park, one of Sri Lanka’s very best. In the afternoon, you’ll give your Royal Enfield a little break and you can choose to jump in a jeep instead for a little safari adventure. Uda Walawe is best known for being one of the most biodiverse places in Sri Lanka and contains an exquisite array of animals from peacocks and crocodiles to elephants and so much more!

Day 11

Uda Walawe - Galle

130 km

On the last leg of your Sri Lanka motorcycle tours, you should really savor the roads and your incredible Royal Enfield! We heading on a southwestern route that will bring us back along the coach. In the afternoon, we’ll be in Galle and exploring the impressive Dutch fortress and the charming walled city with its many unique features before we check into our hotel and enjoy one of our last nights on the road.

Day 12

Galle - Negombo

We’re wrapping up our Sri Lanka Royal Enfield adventure. We’ll be on the roads headed into Negombo where we’ll return our bikes and bid each other farewell. Our team will transfer you to the airport according to your flight schedule.

For this trip, your vehicle is: A Classic 500cc or bullet Royal Enfield Motorcycle.

To drive this vehicle you need : sup. 125cc motobike licence.

Price for this road trip starts at 3200€ for each rider .

This price is intended by person and for a pair of a pilot and a pillion.

3390 € : Price for 1 rider

3010 € : Price for 1 pillion

525 € : Supplement for the option private room

 

The price includes :

  • Royal Enfield 500 CC motorcycle rental
  • Land transfers indicated in the route
  • Gasoline
  • Accompaniment of an English-speaking motorcycle guide from day 2 to day 13
  • A mechanic + a support vehicle for groups of 4 people
  • Half board (breakfasts and lunches) from day 2 to day 13
  • Accommodation: in hotels, in double room or twin (two single beds). Single travelers will share a Twin or Triple room with one or two other participants
  • Third party motorcycle insurance
