On The Best Enduro Trails of Panama

Our team will meet you in the morning to go over any last-minute details before we head out on our Panama adventures. We traveling over country roads through coffee plantations and forests to the Lucero and the charming village of Caldera. At Caldera, we’ll zip by hot springs and ascend over 1,4000 meters to the Paja Sombrero. You’ll enjoy a mixture of off piece and fast track routes zigzagging across Chiriqui. At Bocas del Toro, we’ll stop for lunch enjoying delicious fresh fruit and chicken empanadas. We’ll cross the caldera river again and this time, we’ll take a little dip at La Abuela hot springs before enjoying the rest of the afternoon heading back in the direction of Caldera.

Panama travel doesn’t get any better than this. Our day begins at 8:30 for another info session before we head into our enduro track. Today, we’ll cross Palmira—renowned for its coffee plantations. Then we’ll soar up Baru Volcano along double track which gradually becomes tricky single track until we reach a cloud forest at 1,720 meters. This region is full of great trails to explore before we head into Potrerillos to enjoy a local style lunch. There’s even a special “hard enduro” single track you can try if you’re up for it. By late afternoon, we’ll wind back to PET HQ for a well-earned cold beer.

After our morning briefing, we’re off to the canyons along Baru Volcano. After we pass through Caldera on a fast, technical trail we’ll head towards Gualaca on a mixture of single and double track through mountain and farm country. We’ll ascend the mountains for some spectacular view of the oceans. After a refreshing lunch, we’ll jump into the slot canyons “Canguilones” for an invigorating swim. Then we’ll cross the river to ride the rocky travels to Barrigon Reservoir before winding back to Caldera on an exciting technical motorcycle Panama track.

Today will test your riding skills as we ride single track into the Boquete Cloud Forest on our Panama adventures. We’ll be on a wide mixture of roads from trails to gravel track eventually landing us in La India. La India will a steep, rocky ascent across switchbacks that will push us to the top of the mountain into another incredible cloud forest. Today is all about riding our hearts out—away from it all. Soak it all up on this incredible mixture of sights, sounds, and challenges today.

We’ll begin real early today to start our most amazing day of Panama travel. Everything has been a warm-up for today. We begin on the fast, sandy trails by the ocean before we start the real fun. We’ll zoom through a boulder-strewn canon then head on the San Antonio and El Valle technical tracks. Then we ascend the famous “Nino Grande” which will put your skills to the limit. After this, we ride across coffee plantation till we arrive at the foot of the volcano. This last stretch is all about momentum. In just 30 minutes, you’ll be at the tallest point in Panama at over 3,400 meters. Then we head back to toast our motorcycle Panama accomplishments.

What a week! It’s been an incredible Panama travel adventure. Take a little time to rest this morning before we transfer you to the airport depending on your flight time.
