Day 1 - Luang Prabang - Pakxèng - Nongkiaw - Ban PhaYong
At 8.20 am, our company vehicle will pick you up at your hotel and drive you to our offices. It’s time to gear up and start your motorbikes to begin the motorbike tours Laos! Riding along the Nam Ou River, we will discover one of the remotest areas of Laos.
To manage today’s long drive, we will take some breaks along the way in the breathtaking country side. The mountains, jungle and small villages will eventually guide us to the small and sleepy village of Hmong tribe, Ban PhaYong. Here we will enjoy a nice evening in a small traditional wooden house, with the lovely green mountains always in sight.
Day 2 - Ban PhaYong - Ban NaYang - Muang Khua
Get ready for some excellent off-roading today on our Laos motorcycle tour! On these bumpy, fun roads, we will travel through the Muang Khua Mountains near the Vietnamese border. After, we will cruise along the river and stop to visit a local Kamou villages and the local families will invite us to experience a taste of their lifestyle.
But we won’t stop for too long because the countryside awaits us with magnificent views. The jungle and mountain summits will make you feel like you are flying above the clouds. The whole day will take about 5-6 hours, which gives us enough time to relax in the quiet atmosphere of Muang Khua in the late afternoon.
Day 3 - Muang Khua - Pak NamNoi - Bountai - Muang Na Mor
Another wonderful riding day offers us new dirt tracks to traverse during our off road Laos adventures along the Chinese border. You will ride on the remotest roads of Laos where you will meet the Akha ethnic group. The Akha have been living in these mountains for thousands of years and have developed a unique culture that we are truly lucky to get a taste of. Be sure to respect local customs as they still do not see too many foreigners around there. Then the late afternoon is free for some beers or a tea in one of the small tea shops in town.
Day 4 - Muangz Na Mor - Oudomxay - Muang Nga
The fourth day will be probably the easiest riding day of the motorbike tours Laos but with the most stunning views. After three days of tough trail rides you will enjoy this relaxed pace. The couple days of bumpy driving will really pay off as you enjoy the stunning views that can be found nowhere else.
For the last two hours of the day, you will take a trail following the river and going down to the green valley of Muang Nga. The off road Laos adventures continues as you meet several hill tribes like the Khamu and Lao Loum who each have fascinating cultures and delicious food for you try. These are some great places to buy some handcrafted local products.
Day 5 - Muang Nga - Luang Prabang
Every day is an adventure on our Laos motorcycle tour and today is no different. Even though we will go down a wider road than what we have been used to that does not mean we will not be exploring some remote parts of the country. In fact, it is this road that will lead us to a narrow track through the twisting and incredible mountains.
After descending the mountains and crossing several rivers, we will once again be on paved roads. Here you will have a special choice of how to continue the journey depending on how much energy you have left. After this, we will get back to the main highway and finally get into the city of Luang Prabang, a UNSECO Heritage City where we can drop off the bikes and gear end the biking portion of our motorbike tours Laos. We will spend the night in a hotel with a pool where you can relax and swap stories about our journey so far.
Day 6 - Luang Prabang – Beach along the Mekong
We will have a relaxing morning and lunch before heading off. Then you will be picked up at your hotel at 1.00 PM. And travel five minutes over to the boat pier. Starting from Luang Prabang, you will enjoy a nice 2.5 hour ride on the Mekong.
During this cruise you will stop to visit a local Lao village where they specialize in whiskey making and then arrive at the camping spot around 5pm. In true off road Laos adventures style, it will be time to set up your tent, with your guide’s help of course! After this, we will have time for fishing along the river with your local guide.
As we set up the camp, you can grab some firewood and crack a few beers to enjoy the evening. You can also just relax and get ready for the bonfire and BBQ dinner on the beach! The best part is that we can enjoy this beautiful area all night and have an unforgettable evening.
Day 7 - Beach along the Mekong - Pakou - Luang Prabang
Depending on how long you stayed up, you can enjoy a nice sunrise or sleep a little on the beach. You will then have a nice breakfast prepared by your guide. Afterwards, it is back on the boat as we cruise down the Mekong River. We will stop off at the famous Pak Ou Buddha Caves. The morning is the perfect time to visit the caves because it is before tourists from town get there.
Then you will arrive to Luang Prabang around 11.30 where a Tuk-Tuk will drop you off directly at your hotel before lunch time. From here, you can head to the airport or choose to stay a few more days around Luang Prabang.
