Day 1 - Challenge your skills on beautiful jungle track
Our team vehicle will pick you up at your hotel in Luang Prabang at 8:20 am. We’ll meet up in our offices to pick up your motorcycle, meet your guide and get everything you need to be ready for our adventure. We’ll depart around 9:30 and take it easy as you get used t your vehicle as we begin on the road that runs parallel to the beautiful Nam Ou River. Within no time at all, you’ll be happy for the sturdy suspensions of the Honda CRD which you’ll find useful even on the paved roads near Luang Prabang which often have pretty steep potholes. We’ll enjoy lunch at a local style restaurant and then travel over the Muai Vanag Bridge. Here we’ll cross onto trails and cut deep into the forest. It’s time to start testing your skills as we cross rivers and bamboo bridges and do a little off roading on our Laos road trip.
Day 2 - MuangNga – Nalé
Today’s picaresque journey will push us through the verdant valleys of Laos. You can enjoy the pristine vegetation and take time to stop and enjoy beautiful views. We’ll enjoy lunch at a classic style spot before we embark on our adventure into the rice fields that ascend up to the mountains. Aside from an occasional farmer, we’ll see a few people only nature on this unique Laos travel experience. We’ll cross a suspension bridge and head into a village of the Khamu ethnic group. At the end of the day, we’ll spend the evening in Nale which sits just outside the deep jungle.
Day 3 - Nalé – Oudomxay
We’ll travel through the countryside and continue to enjoy this beautiful area before we get ready for another challenge on our Laos roadtrip. Soon we’ll encounter trick single-tracks, massive roots, and small bridges. In rainy season, we’ll have to cross some of the streams by raft even. We’ll meet more Khamu farmers along the way and see their signature elevated houses. Your guide is also an interpreter so you can ask them any question and learn more about their history and culture. The remainder of the day will be back on normal roads so you can take it easy after the exciting morning. By Afternoon, we’ll cruise into the charming city of Oudomxay.
Day 4 - Oudomxay – Village of tribe
We’ll head out of the city and ride along the stunning roads that wind up into the pristine mountains on our Laos motorcycle tours. Today start off easier, but very scenic so you’ll be able to fully enjoy it. This part of the country is quiet with only the occasional village or farm. By early afternoon you’ll reach Village “KM36” to enjoy lunch. Here high in the mountains, you’ll be happy to meet some beautifully paved roads again before we take a trail into the isolated village of the Thai Dam tribe called Ban Ba. Here high in the mountains, you will enjoy a traditional dinner among the local people and try to some local alcohol and the peace and quiet of a small, wooden house in this charming village.
Day 5 - Village de tribu - MuangHiam
Welcome to Laos travel.You’ll probably awaken to the charming sounds of the village getting ready to start their day. From the chickens and cows and oxcarts. Take a little time to discover the village on foot and checking out some of the local occupations like traditional bamboo weaving. Then you can enjoy a delicious breakfast of rice and vegetables with a Thai Dam-style omelet. Then, we’ll jump back on the bikes and start riding down the epic ricefield paths. We’ll challenge ourselves on a few technical sections before the road opens to a wide dirt track. Then we arrive Photoping which sits only a few miles from the Vietnamese Border in Laos’s northeast corner. One of the best roads in the country awaits us as we make our way again into the mountains and national forest reserve.
Day 6 - MuangHiam - Plain of Jars
Today your skills we’ll be truly tested as we ride on one of the most fantastic and challenging in the country on our Laos motorcycle tours. We’ll be riding single-tracks deep into the wild vegetation of the forests as we cross fallen trees, roots, and holes in the ground. The difficulty is more than worth it as we get a rare glimpse into the incredible landscapes of this region making this a true dream for all off-road enthusiasts. Once we cross out of the deep forests, we’ll cross the river on a local style boat and reach the village of Ban Long Khao. We’re riding into new landscapes now as the tropical plans are replaced by temperate trees like fire as we descend from the mountains and into the great plains. We’ll enjoy lunch in Xieng Khouang and then visit the three famous sites from the Plain of Jars. This mystical destination is over 2,000 years old and one of the most legendary in Laos. Even today, most people aren’t exactly sure where these sculpted rocks come from and why they were built.
Day 7 - Plaine des jarres - Luang Prabang
Today will begin easy on paved roads before we reach a final path that leads through the jungle on our Laos travel expedition. Here we’ll encounter no other travelers as we make our way along this secret road that stretches deep into the mountains and a truly wild area. Here your eyes will feast on the fabulous scenery as we wind our way into a small village of local fisherman. Here a boat will help us cross the river and enjoy a little break. Then our last challenge will begin—twenty miles of dirt trails. By mid-afternoon, we’ll arrive at Muang Phonexay and take it easy on paved roads. Before nightfall, we’ll return once again to Luang Prabang totally exhausted by satisfied from out truly epic Laos roadtrip.
