Day 1 Ciudad Colon - Manuel Antonio
Your endurance motorcycling adventure begins! You ride from Ciudad Colon towards Tabarcia through some adventurous trails. You cross coffee farms in the middle of mountainous terrain and pine vegetation at 2,000 metres altitude. You ride downhill to the valley with tropical vegetation and then recommence your ride uphill till the small village of San Francisco at over 2,400 metres height. This typical mountain village is home to a large community of Talamanca Indians. You have lunch in a Finca, a local farm of a coffee collector. You then take a steep descent to Pirris, crossing the dam and the emerald green lake. You can enjoy splendid views of the high mountains of Costa Rica from the winding roads of Los Santos. You continue your descent into a tropical jungle before reaching the beautiful town of Manuel Antonio by the Pacific Ocean. You stay overnight in your hotel.
Day 2 Manuel - Antonio - El Sur
After a relaxing swim in the turquoise blue waters of the Pacific, you continue riding your endure motorcycle trip along the coast. Moving through beautiful deserted beaches, lined with coconut trees, your Costa Rican motorcycle trip continues in the middle of the wild lands of the country. Riding through serpentine red dirt tracks, crossing rios and banana farms, you arrive late afternoon at your eco-lodge hotel in the middle of stunning tropical vegetation.
Day 3 El Sur – Montezuma
After a typical Costa Rican breakfast, you once again descend on the Pacific coast to arrive in the fishing village of Tarcoles. Here you take a boat trip to see the giant crocodiles, up to six metres in length. With your bikes, you cross the river by boat. Do not touch the water as it is dangerously populated! Once on the other side, you ride your motorcycle along the pristine coast to arrive in Puntarenas. Here you board a ferry that will take you to the Nicoya Peninsula. You stay the night in Montezuma, an endearing hippie beach village. Pura vida!
Day 4 Montezuma – Carmona
You are back on the road for your enduro motorcycle adventure in Costa Rica! You ride to the tip of the peninsula, alternating between beaches and tropical forests, and passing through pristine natural spaces filled with unique raw beauty. You cross Malpais, a small fishing village and then Santa Teresa, a trendy seaside spot, especially for the jet-setters and surfers around the world. After breaking for lunch, you go back to the peninsula lands – full of winding tracks and a paradise for enduro biking. You stay overnight with the local habitants of Carmona in the middle of a jungle.
Day 5 Carmona – La Gloria
You have a traditional lunch prepared by your hosts and hop on to your enduro bike for another day of the Costa Rican adventure. Riding through magical views of the Gulf of Nicoya on one side and the blue Pacific on the other, you reach Playa Naranjo. Here you take the ferry across the gulf and enjoy this relaxing moment. Once on the other side of the Gulf, you cross the Carrara National Park. The terrain gets a little slippery here – careful riding is recommended! You arrive in Jaco, a spot well known to surfers for its giant waves. Admire the beautiful beach from the hills overlooking Jaco. You ride again and finally arrive at your hotel in the middle of a jungle and a wildlife rescue centre.
Day 6 Turrialba Volcano
Today, you are up for a long and varied ride! You begin riding on beautiful paths till Puriscal, a town devastated by an earthquake a few years ago. You then continue on your enduro motorcycle trip in Costa Rica. The landscape changes as you ride towards Cartago, the former capital of Costa Rica and a holy city for the Catholics. In the afternoon, you ride up towards the Turrialba Volcano at 3,400 metres altitude. The landscape changes abruptly from tropical greens to dry and mountainous terrains as your ride up to the volcano. Riding through small villages and scenic views, you reach the spectacular volcano, a splendid vantage point to watch the sunset. You stay overnight in a Lecheria, a farm producing its own meat and cheese.
Day 7 Turrialba Volcano – River Pacuare
You have your breakfast on the farm terrace while watching the white smoke rising from the volcano. The day is high on adrenaline, as we raft down the Pacuare River, one of the most beautiful rivers in the world and cross the Bribri Indigenous Reserve. Make the most of your time in the wilderness before resuming your ride to reach Siquirres.
Day 8 Siquirres - Ciudad Colon
For the last day of your enduro motorcycle trip in Costa Rica, you ride through the Orosi Valley to return to San José. You will pass through varied landscapes – primaeval forests, sugarcane farms, rivers and the wilderness, before finally reaching your destination. Watch the sun set over the city from the central valley. Enjoy the city and move to the beats of salsa.
