Lima - Arequipa
We leave early today to reach the airport for our morning flight to Arequipa. Your driver will meet you at the airport and escort your to your hotel. Today’s a free day to enjoy the lovely small city. There are so many great things to check out such as the San Camilo Market which is the biggest market of the region. You’ll love the white streets lined with trees and the views of the incredible surrounding volcanoes. In the evening, you’ll receive your vehicle and have a little intro to get ready for us to take the road tomorrow !
Arequipa - Cañon del colca
Get ready to take the wheel as we make our way to Cañón del Colca located in the Southern Cordillera of Peru and which reaches an altitude of 3270m. These incredible gorges are nearly twice as deep as the famous Grand Canyon ! Along the way, we will cross the Col de Patapampa which stands at incredible 4890 meters tall! Then we will descend in the valley, a perfect place to unwind at the end of the day and enjoy a cocktail under a sky filled with a thousand stars !
Cañon del colca - Lac titicaca
We are going to be transitioning between two different regions today as we go from the canyons of yesterday to the heights of the “Cruz del Condor” on our Peru adventures.Along the way, we can experience the village of Maca and visit some of the pre-Inca terraces and archaeological sites home to the region. By the afternoon, we’ll arrive in Llachon where you will the opportunity to enjoy the village and explore the beautiful lake nearby.
Iles Uros - Llachon
Today, we leave from the port and head out to the floating islands of Uros on our Peru road trip. Here you will ancient societies who lived by the Incan Code of “Ama Suwa” which translates to “You will not steal, you will not lie, you will not be lazy.” These incredible archaeological sites are located inside some truly unique landscapes that will make you feel as if you are on another world. We’ll cross back to the Llachon Peninsula and you’ll enjoy a traditional coca leave ceremony, the “Pachamama.” Then you’ll have the rest of the day to explore with one of our incredible guides.
Lalchon - Fundo Mallkini
Get ready to take back the reins of your vehicle as we get on the road! We follow along the banks of Lake Titicaca and cross some truly enchanting villages where few foreigners have ever come. By early afternoon on our Peru adventures, we will arrive at the hacienda and have the opportunity to explore an incredible property covering over 3,000 hectares and one of the largest breeding places for Alpacas in Peru. Here you will get an up close experience with these majestic animals.
Fundo Mallkini - Sicuani
In the morning we will take a run through the “Altiplano” or high plane before we descend. This incredible arid region will continue to amaze you. If you are behind the wheel, it’s time to test your skills as we mix between road and dirt track and cross the highest point of the region, La Raya, at over 4335 meters. During our journey we will also have the opportunity to stop and enjoy the Aguas Calientes Hot Springs for a well-earned rest. Then we will continue descending and spend the night in the charming village of Sicuani to conclude today’s tours in Peru.
Sicuani - Pisac
Today our Peru road trip will have us crossing through the famed Sacred Valley in the village of Pisac. We will make a stop at the Raqchi Archaeological Site before we head to the small “Sistine Chapel of Peru” in the village of Andahuaylillas. It is a place of incredible beauty. From here we will continue along to the Sacred River of the INcas, the “Volcanoes.” Today’s journey is all about majesty and mystery as we cross these revered place and enjoy the rolling landscapes along the way.
Pisac - Aguascalientes
We are on the road again on our tours in Peru as we cross through the lovel village of Ollantaytambo. named after the “Ollanta Cacique” or a “Cacique” had fallen in love with a princess, daughter of Inca Pachacutec. At 15:00, you’ll leave your vehicles and head to train station to the town of Aguascalientes which lies at the foot of Machu Picchu.
We’ll start early so you can truly experience this incredible destination. Located at over 2,400 meters. The third world of the world was discovered in 1911 by American anthropologist, Hiram Bingham. Make you way across the Wayna Picchu and the many other incredible aspects. By 12:00 we’ll make our way down back to the city where you will have some more time to enjoy the city before we head on the train back to Ollantaytambo.
Moray - Cusco
This is your last day of driving your 4×4 so make the most out of it. You’ll begin in the morning by cruising along the famed road the cross the “Salines de Maras” as source of saltwater that flows through the region. Then we will explore the Moray Amphithere, one of the oldest in the INca. This series of terraces features its own unique microclimate home to over 250 different plant species. Then we will head to the “Túpac Yupanqui,” one of the last villages with true Inca traces. Then one of drivers will meet you in Chinchero and guide you over to Cusco.
Today, you’ll experience “the navel of the world” Cusco which was the was the capital of the Inca empire” Tawantinsuyu.” Legend has it that the city was founded in XI or XII century by Manco Capac and Mama Ocllo, both born in Lake Titicaca. There is so much to do in this city. You can experience the wonderful fruit juices of the local market before we head out to visit the sites of Pukapukara and Tambomachay Sacsayhuamán, Incas constructions entirely made of stone. In the afternoon you can enjoy the incredible cathedrals back in the city. Be sure you enjoy some local Inca food before we head back to other regions in Peru.
You’ll have the morning to relax and also make a few last souvenir purchases from the local artisans. Our flight will be around 2:00 and you’ll be back in Lima where you can catch a connecting international flight or check out the capital city some more. We hope you enjoyed your tours in Peru.
