Welcome to Lao’s laid-back capital city. We’ll meet you at the airport and transfer you over to your hotel in the city. You’ll have some time to explore Vientiane’s charms before we meet up to brief you on our upcoming expedition and enjoy a delicious welcome dinner.
Time for our Laos adventure to begin as we set off west snaking along the Mekong River through the remote areas on the border. In the morning, we’ll enjoy paved easy roads before crossing the Mekong by ferry. After a riverside lunch, we’ll be exploring the secret tracks along the route to Pak Lay where we’ll spend the night in the charming town.
Time to set off to one of the remotest areas of Laos into the Nam Phouy Protected Area on our road trip Laos. We’ll be driving through dense jungles and into the stunning mountains in Sainyabuli Province ending in Sayaboury for the night.
As we head out of Sayaboury, we’ll be crossing the Mekong before we jump on a dirt road to the Kuang Si Waterfall on our Laos tours. Here we’ll break for lunch and enjoy the shimmering turquoise waters. Then we are off towards Luang Prabang, a charming city located at the renowned confluence of the Mekong and Nam Khan Rivers where will enjoy the incredible local food from the region.
We set off early towards a small island where you’ll enjoy some serious off-roading. This is your time to test your 4×4 skills and even pick up a few techniques from our expert trainers who are skilled in the arts of off-road drive. We’ll head back to Luang Prabang for lunch where you’ll have the afternoon free to enjoy the town at your own speed before we meet back up for dinner.
We depart from Luang Prabang and drive all day through the roads in the direct of Xieng Khouang. There are many options for the route that we take on our road trip Laos that depend on the season and road conditions. No matter which we choose, we are guaranteed to experience the beauty of Laos. We’ll have a stopover at the Plain of Jars. A mysterious historical site where several thousand clay jars dating from 500 bc can be found but no one is quite sure why they are there!
After so many offroad days, you’ll enjoy the smooth, easy paved roads along the Laos adventure today. We’ll enjoy a local Laos style village lunch and then race over to Vang Vieng. The town perched on the hills above the Nam Song (Song River) is situated among jagged limestone mountains and is one of the best place to watch the sun set in the country. It’s also popular for kayaking, cave exploration, climbing and so much more!
We have an easy start to the day and you’ll have some additional time to explore Vang Vieng on our Laos tours. We’ll be on easy roads and stop by the Ngam Ngum Reservoir for lunch. Then we’ll cruise back into VIentiane staying at a different hotel where we’ll enjoy a final celebratory dinner to cheers the highlights from our adventure.
