You’ll want to make sure you flight arrives by midday so you have plenty of time to rest up and get ready before your Iceland 4×4 tours begin. In the evening, you’ll have a briefing by the experts from Nomadic Road Team. They’ll answer any questions you might have as well as give you an opportunity to meet your fellow team members on the journey.
Hopefully, you are well rested and ready to go. Now it’s time for our Iceland road trip to begin and for you to get acquainted with your 4×4. You’ll have a quick briefing on the vehicle, the rules of the road in Iceland and some tips to help you on your journey. Then we are off to the incredible destinations of Iceland’s Golden Circle — Þingvellir, Geysir and Gullfoss journeying across the small highland roads of the country.
Today is when our extreme Iceland tours really begins.After we depart from, Gullfoss we will head to Þjórsárdalur staying along the challenging highland tracks. Along the way, we will visit Háifoss— Iceland’s second tallest waterfall as well its second largest glacier, Langjökull. Most people have never driven on a glacier before and it today’s the day you’ll learn how to master it.
Today’s Iceland 4×4 tour program depends on the weather and conditions on the road. As always our goals is to focus on 4×4 snow driving through the Fjallabak area. If conditions are good, then we will travel to Landmannalaugar and jump in the famous hot spring river, so bring your swimsuit !
We continue our extreme Iceland tours by heading off to Þórsmörk. Get ready to practice your river crossing skills as we make our way through trails, streams and rivers. We’ll stop by another famous glacier Gígjökull, as well as possibly visiting the Stakkholtsgjá Canyon before wrapping up for the day.
We heading down to the South Coast on our way to Vik on our Iceland road trip. You’ll see some of the famous places like Skógafoss and Reynisfjara along the way. Today, your roads skills get another challenge as we drive on the tricky black sand beaches. In the evening, we’ll wrap up our extreme Iceland tours with a celebratory dinner and toast to our highlights from the trip.
Our Iceland 4×4 tours are already over. You can leave Reykjavik any time you wish. We highly recommend spending at least a few more days in the most northern capital on earth. There are many excellent museums, restaurants and cool cafes and bars. Visitors falls in love with the snow-capped mountains, rollings seas and fresh, clean air of the city before they head back home.
