Day 1 Arrival to San José and transfer to hotel

You’ll arrive in the country’s capital San Jose located in the heart of the Central Valley. Your English-speaking guide will welcome you and transfer you to your hotel as you begin your Costa Rica itinerary 10 days.Feel free to ask any questions about the country or your upcoming journey then spending the rest of the day relaxing before your big adventure begins !
Day 2 San José – Poas – Sarapiqui

After breakfast, it’s time to get your vehicle! We are heading towards the region of the Poas Volcano National Park which has crater over 3,000 feet in diameter and is considered the largest active crater in the world! Then we will continue and have the chance to take a look of “La Paz Waterfall” before heading to Sarapiqui. Puerto Viejo de Details Sarapiqui was the ancient meeting Point of the Huetar tribe on the commercial routes between the Mayan and Inca Empires. It has become a special destination for nature lovers. Along the way, we will see plantations where they grow pineapple, palm, banana, yucca, plantain and maize. We will spend the night in the Pozo Azul Tent Camp where you will be dazzled by the night sounds of the Repas Libres Rainforest.
Day 3 Sarapiqui – Boca Tapada

Get ready for an adrenaline packed day on our Costa Rica excursions as we get ready to raft the Sarapiqui River. The river begins high in the mountains surrounding by lush tropical forest. These Class II and Class III rapids are the perfect mixture of challenge and relaxation and fun for any rafting skill set. Along the way, you will get to see a huge amount of birds and other wildlife in the area. After lunch we head down the small, twisting roads to the isolated areas of Boca Tapada to continue our Costa Rica adventures to the forests along the northern border of the country. This is the perfect spot for bird watching and maybe even seeing a monkey or two!
Day 4 Boca Tapada – Fortuna (Région du Volcan Arenal)

Our fantastic Costa Rica itinerary 10 days continues as we head in the direction of the Arenal Volcano Area, one of the top destinations in Costa Rica. Today you’ll be free to enjoy the activities of the region from kayaking to visiting agricultural plantations to a little hiking around La Fortuna and enjoying the hot springs. Enjoy !
Day 5 La Fortuna

You’ll have more time today to explore La Fortuna on our Costa Rica adventures. After breakfast, you will have an easy hike along the Arenal Hanging Bridges. Here you can enjoy a once in a lifetime view of the Arenal Volcano and its incredible surroundings. Then you have more time for exploration and doing some of the incredible activities.
Day 6 Fortuna – Bijagua

We are back on the road on our Costa Rica excursions towards the Tenorio Volcano along a beautiful road that loops alongside the lake on its south side. The major attraction of this national park is the Celestial River with the dazzling blue color. Along the way, you can enjoy some of the small villages, livestock areas and hear the “windmill songs,” one of the country’s main energy sources. On this secret route, you will have the opportunity to observe both the Tenorio volcano and the Miravalles Volcano. If the weather is clear, you may even be able to see the Rincon Volcano of the Vieja. At the end of the day, you’ll settle in a cozy lodge in the middle of lush vegetation.
Day 7 Bijagua – Playa Grande

Today we will discover one of the most impressive natural phenomenons of Costa Rica. Hiking in the secondary and primary forest, you will see the Rio Celeste changes colors right in front of your eyes. On our way back during our Costa Rica adventures, we will make a stop to observe the magnificent waterfall and famous Blue Lagoon. After lunch, we will continue on our way to the North Pacific coast where you will have the afternoon free to enjoy the white sand beaches and several surf spots. Then we will pick up the road on the route near Playa Conchal to the village of Tamarindo and Playa Grande.
Day 8 Playa Grande
After all this traveling on our Costa Rica excursions, you’ll be happy for today’s day of rest and discovery. This is a great time to explore the beaches of the North Pacific Coast and relax and enjoy the ocean. And if you are looking for something a little more exciting, you have plenty of options from surfing to hiking to check out as well !
Day 9 Playa Grande – San José
270 km
You will have a little more free time in the morning to enjoy the Pacific Coast before we head back to the Central Valley via the PanAmerican Highway. If there’s time, we can stop at the Palo Verde National Park or experience the floating tour in Cañas to see some of the local animals. We will arrive in San Jose and say bye to our vehicles before spending the night at the Carlos Hotel.
Day 10 San Jose Airport

Time to to wrap up our Costa Rica adventures. We’ll have time for a nice breakfast, before we get you over to the airport where you’ll wave goodbye to this beautiful country! So how was your Costa Rica itinerary 10 days ?
