Map of your 4x4 road trip :
You’ll be welcome by your English-speaking guide at the Hosea Kutako International Airport. Along the road to your hotel, you get your first taste of wildlife and might even see some baboons. We’ll gradually climb in altitude past small colonial towns and make a stop at the local craft market where they specialize in carving elaborate wooden statues. We’ll arrive at the Erindi Game Reserve by lunch and in the afternoon, you’ll have an opportunity for your first Zambia safari before we end the day at the charming lodge.
Erindi - Etosha
The best safari in Zambia is in full swing as we head out to Etosha National Park. At over 22,000 square kilometers, this massive park is home to elephants, rhinoceros, giraffes, kudu, zebras and so much more! We’ll crisscross small tracks and make our way to watering holes (the best place to spot game!). Then, we’ll spend the night at the Etosha Safari Camp which is perched on a hill and offers great views of the park.
Etosha - Mushara lodge Etosha
Get ready for a full day safari on our Zambia safari! This massive park has so much more to explore. One of the first places we’ll head out to is the Etosha (where the park gets its name) a massive area that fills during rainy season and dries up during the year. Here you can see thousands of different birds and so many mammals, reptiles and other kinds of wildlife. As we make our way across the park, we’ll end up to the East side of the park where we will truly enjoy our lodge safari Zambia in a comfortable and spacious chalet.
Mushuara Lodge Etosha - Mahangu Safari Lodge
We head across the 500 km long Caprivi Banf. This strip of land that lies between Zambia, Botswana and Angola is nearly all nature reserve. It’s one of the best spots for wildlife in Africa as its surrounded by the Kwando and Zambezi Rivers. We’ll cross into Mahongo National park and spend the night in the safari lodge which are the perfect place to relax after our thrilling adventure.
Mahango national parc - Buffal national parc
We have a special surprise breakfast for you today after our early start to explore the unique Mahango National Park. Here, you will have the opportunity to find many animals that do not call the Etosha National Park home like the hibiscus, crocodiles. Duikers and buffaloes. In the afternoon, we’ll head over to Buffalo National Park— a great place for buffaloes, of course, but even a better place for birds. Then we’ll soak up some relaxation on our lodge safari of Zambia.
Mahangu - Okavango
Today we are going international on our best safari in Zambia as we head northwest along the Okavango Delta. The Okavango is the largest inland delta in the world and is famous for its incredible diversity of wildlife and pristine nature. We will spend two night along the delta at the Guma Lagoon Camp. In the afternoon, you’ll even have the opportunity for a lovely sunset boat ride on the river.
Guma Lagoon - Okavango
We depart by boat in mokoros (local style wooden canoes) on our Zambia safari to cruise silently along the river as the Kavango People have done here for countless generations. As we explore the delta, we’ll hop off and explore the different islands and explore the spectacular wildlife before we return to Guma Lagoon Camp for the night.
Okavango - Chobe National Parc - Kasane
We’re traveling once again along the Caprivi Strip as we make our way through the Chobe National Park. This massive park is home to a huge concentration of the most spectacular of African wildlife and is largely untouched by man. You’ll see everything from large herds of elephants and buffaloes to lions and so much more. We’ll explore the park before we arrive at the charming Kasane Lodge.
Chobe National Parc
We’ll start the day off with a 4×4 safari through the Chobe National Park. Here, we will search for wild dogs, buffaloes, lions and leopards and even antelopes. You’ll have some free time before lunch and then we’ll head out on the Chobe River to search for hippos, crocodiles, birds and elephants before enjoying sunset on the lovely river.
Kasane - Livingstone
At last we arrive at Victoria Falls. There is so much to do here from a helicopter tour over the falls to bungee jumping, an elephant ridge or a stroll through nature. This massive falls are some of the most famous in the world and to complete the best safari in Zambia you’ll have the opportunity to do so many different activities here. We highly recommend walking the bridge that connects Zambia and Zimbabwe and provides on the best views in the area. After all this fun, we’ll wind down at the lovely Protea Hotel Livingstone.
It’s hard to believe, but our lodge safari Zambia has already to come to an end. We’ll take you over to the airport where you’ll fly back to Johannesburg to continue your vacation or head on home.
