Map of your 4x4 road trip :

Day 1

Johannesburg - Maun

You’ll touchdown at the Maun airport and be welcomed to the country by your driver. At the hotel, you’ll meet your English speaking guide who is there to answer any questions you might have about your Botswana Safari tours. Then you’ll have a flight over Okavango Delta and be able to get your first glimpse at the incredible nature of southern Africa.

Day 2

Maun - Camp de Guma Lagoon

300 km

We set off northwest to the Okavango Delta’s western edge. The mighty Okavango traces its sources to Angola and travels a huge distance before it disappears into the dry Kalahari region. The Okavango is also known as the world’s largest inland delta and is filled with countless wildlife species. We’ll spend two nights here at Guma Lagoon Camp so you’ll have plenty of time to explore the incredible area.

Day 3

Camp de Guma Lagoon Camp - Mokoro trip

Get ready to start exploring the delta by Mokoros (local style wooden canoes). On today’s Botswana Safari tours, we’ll silently make our way along the waterways and experience a taste of the local lifestyle of the Kavangos who have been using these boats for countless generations. We’ll explore the islands and enjoy the scenery before we head back to the Guma Lagoon Camp.

Day 4

Guma Lagoon - Mahangu Safari Lodge

164 km

Today, we leave Namibia and kick off our Namibia safari tours. We follow the Okavango and head into the Caprivi Region where we’ll cross into Namibia inside the Mahango First Safari National Park. Our lodge is located right alongside the river, a perfect place to catch glimpse of the elephant or buffalo herds who come to drink water there. In the afternoon, we’ll have a safari in the park. After dinner, you can enjoy the sounds of the bush and the night calls of hippos.

Day 5

Mahangu Safari Lodge - Parc de Mahango - Buffalo Parc

150 km

Namibia safari tours don’t get any better than this as we explore the over 100 square mile Mahango National Park. Here you can find animals that are nearly impossible to catch anywhere else. You’ll see crocodiles, elephants, antelopes, duikers, buffaloes and so much more. In the afternoon, we’ll safari in the Buffalo Park— a true birder’s paradise.

Day 6

Mahangu Safari Lodge - Nkasa Lupala

150 km

Namibia safari tours don’t get any better than this as we explore the over 100 square mile Mahango National Park. Here you can find animals that are nearly impossible to catch anywhere else. Not only this, it is home to the largest virgin forests in the world and offers you an experience like no other. Be on the lookout for the massive elephant herds here !
