Our 4×4 tours in Botswana
4x4 - Botswana
Prepare the road trip of your dreams.
One of the Greatest Safari and 4x4 Destinations on Earth!
Botswana, which is situated in south-central Africa, is home to an incredible collection of wildlife, scenery, and culture. For good reason, Botswana travel mainly consists of safaris, with people flocking to the country for the chance to see zebras, lions, elephants, and the other amazing animals that reside in Botswana’s national parks and game reserves. Altogether, these protected lands cover tens of thousands of square kilometers! Among the most popular regions and parks are the Okavango Delta, where the Okavango River widens into the world's largest inland delta. The swamps, marshes, and waterways of the delta draw animals from hundreds or thousands of kilometers away, and triples in size during the rain and floods of July and August. Chobe National Park, which is a regular stop on our Botswana 4x4 tours, sits not far away and has a tremendous population of elephants. It’s also a great location to spot many of Africa's famous fauna, like zebras and lions. Another interesting geographical attraction is Makgadikgadi Pan National Park. This vast, empty salt flat is spectacular to see on its own, but also attracts a large number of bird species. Other great game parks include Nxai Pan National Park, Mokolodi Nature Reserve, and Gemsbok National Park.

After arriving in Maun, the group meets up at the gorgeous Thamalakane River Lodge for a trip briefing and a relaxing rest of the evening. The following day, you’re off to the Moremi Wildlife Reserve, which is located in the eastern part of the Okavango Delta. Here you’ll get to see giraffes, zebras, elephants, and some other incredible creatures. There is also an incredible option to explore the delta by mokoro, which is a traditional wooden canoe used by the local inhabitants. By day four of this 4×4 adventure, Botswana will actually be in our rear-view mirrors as we get back on the road and head north towards Namibia. Along this stretch of the journey, you’ll be able to enjoy gorgeous sunrises and sunsets, and plenty more wildlife encounters. On day five, it’s time to head to the Caprivi Strip along Namibia’s eastern tip where Zimbabwe, Botswana, and Angola meet. Along the way, we’ll get to cross several magnificent rivers including the Zambezi, Chobe, and Okavango. We’ll also stop at the beautiful Popa falls, where will spend the night at the Mahangu Safari Lodge.
The next few days of the trip, we’ll zig-zag between Namibia and Botswana as we explore Mahango and Chobe National Parks and put our 4x4s to the test exploring barely traveled tracks in search of elephants. Starting on day nine, we head for one of the seven natural wonders of the world – Victoria Falls! After a day exploring the falls, the group will slowly start the return journey to Maun. Along the way, we’ll visit the vast empty salt flats of the Makgadikgadi Pan, search for herds of giraffes, zebras, and springboks and their predators like lions, cheetahs, and hyenas, and take in the rest of the magnificent sights.
